Onyxbirds Costa Rica Trip - Informational Meetup!!

It's official!!! Onyxbird 001 is taking flight enroute to....Costa Rica! This country, located in Central America, offers lots of nature, culture and adventure with less of that "been-there-done-that" atmosphere, to which some of us have become accustomed.

We are aiming for a late September departure, which is the low season (i.e., rainy but inexpensive). Initial research suggests that we should be able to keep the cost of flights+hotel between $550 and $880/person (incl. taxes), depending on the selected level of accomodations and duration of stay. For those who might be worried about rain, an official guide to the country says:

"The dry season here is from January to March, with February being the driest month. The rest of the year is technically the rainy season, October being the rainiest. But, despite the long "rainy period", there are (on average) five hours of sun during the rainy months. The days begin sunny and pleasurable, with rains moving in during the afternoon or night. There is usually plenty of sunshine to be had. You are not usually under a pouring sky for days."

That having been said, we will provide a varied list of activities that can be enjoyed come rain or come shine.
