The Ottawa Travel Group May Meetup

We will begin our Meetup with our fun Trivia Challenge and Weird and Wacky photos.

Tonight's Presentation: China - presented by Jennifer

Central China's Xi 'an is the former capital to six dynasties. It's home to the Terracotta Warriors, a city wall, spicy noodles and nuggets of intrigue around many-a-corner. Join me for "A Dollop of Xi 'an" in May's Travel Meetup.

For my first time I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and met a few people. Jennifer's presentation on China was great and I hope to attend many for meetings in the future. Barb

Who attended?

    •  It was great! Having people chatting in the background, who were not part of the meetup, was slightly distracting. Venue was very hot, and when the windows were finally open, had no screens so mosquitoes were feasting!
    •  This was my first time and I felt welcomed right away. Peter ran a very enjoyable and organized meeting and the presentation by Jennifer on China was great. Well presented and great pictures.
    •  Thanks Jennifier for a wonderful presentation. Tonight's Trivia challenge was a bit tough, but as usual, it was entertaining and educational. Thanks Peter and Pauline for organizing such a great evening. Looking forward to our next Meetup.
    •  Peter, I think you should make the trivia a little easier! The feedback I got from the Xi 'an presentation was all positive, so I'm glad that I've been able to show my fellow travellers a little piece of China.
    • Valerie James (+1 guest)
I thought the meeting was very well organized and thoroughly enjoyed Jennifer's presentation on China. All the extra facts she gave at the end are things that normal tourists would not necessarily know. It was nice to have presentation given by someone who had experienced this culture for 3 years.
    • Eva
This was the first meeting I attended as a new member. It was great! The atmosphere is very friendly. Peter S. is a fantastic organizer!
    •  Great presention on Xi'an Jennifer. Many new members attended the meetup tonight and it was a pleasure meeting each one. Thank you Diane for sending me the interesting photos of people holding the sun (Weird and Wacky presentation) Looking forward to seeing everyone next month.
    •  Excellent presentation, obviously Jennifer is accustomed to making presentations. Her material was very well organized, interesting and professionally delivered. I could have sat and listened to her and enjoyed her beautiful pictures even longer. Pictures looked like they were taken by a professional.
    •  We found it informative in a casual manner. It was interesting to see Jennifer's travels and hear of others. We think you have a good idea and hope that this meet up group continues. We love to travel too and would love to see a group organized to travel abroad to Italy, Peru etc. I am not sure if we would attend all meetings only due to the subject matter. We are away all winter as well which makes it difficult for us to be a steady memeber of the club. Keep up the good work though, we think this could evolve into a fun club with lots of future adventures.
    •  Peter Sinclair makes new member feel very welcome. I found the talk and slides on Jennifer's stay in China quite interesting.
    •  Friendly and funny group, interesting and entertaining presentation, lots of travel experience in the room - made for a great first meetup!
