Portland Oregon... the Pacific Northwest is fun. Then on to France, maybe for a Christmas. And India down the road.
Avoid the tourist areas, go native soon as you get there, and learn to read the menu.
In an Egyptian part of a museum with friends and I had been talking about the artifacts. A group gathered around, then followed us to the next section. They thought I was the tour guide. Then people have walked up to me in Quebec, the Netherlands and France for questions and though I was local. And there were other times I asked people questions in English and they expected I was putting them on.

“ I could do the Audi too. There is no rule that says you can't have more than one awesome vehicle! ”
“ Thank you for the tip. I usually spend a couple of weeks in Florida every summer/winter. ”
“ I'd also like to suggest that we have separate workshops on: legal, accounting, tax, finances, marketing, general business strategies, hiring, growth, leadership and management, exit strategies and work/life balance.
On the same note, is there an interest and a way to get some $$ from OH or city to support small business growth here (chamber of commerce? etc...) so we can find a permanent space or a club house/business incubator hub? ”
“ I'd like to propose that in our general meetings we dedicate about 10 minutes time for sharing latest thoughts about lead business strategies. For example, I recently read "Wikinomics" which deals with leveraging open source concept for business growth. "Re-Imagine" by Tom Peters is great for disruptive innovation and talent management. I just started "Blue Ocean Strategy" - so far very engaging. It's about strategies for expanging beyond present market boundaries towards new needs. ”
“ Hi Mike and all:
It seems that there is a growing interest in exchanging books, movies, or other useful reading material. For the next meeting let's make a quick survey to find out what kind of format would be most suitable for information sharing. I wish we have some permanent place where we can physically keep and share useful books and magazines. Blogs are great, but some books are not available in electronic format. ”
