What: Day Trip to Bang Pa In and Ayutthaya

Why: It's our Meetup's inaugural trip outside of Bangkok! It's cheaper than the full tour package. It's a bunch of fun loving, tour happy people!

Meeting Description: Budget Day-Trip to Bang Pa In and Ayutthaya

Lot's of free information on the Internet with pictures and all about these two very popular tourism areas, however, it's nothing compared to seeing these monuments of history first hand. And hopefully I and my tour guide friends can provide more in depth details about the various points of interests than the Internet can provide, at least what is popularly available online in English.

To participate, you must (1) RSVP yes, (2) indicate if there are any small children travelling with you, (3) indicate what major hotel is closest to your residence so we can decide on a convenient meetup location for the van/bus pickup, and (4) provide me with a mobile phone to contact you on the day of the trip.

NOTE: Even though this is a budget conscious trip, there will be a cost for the trip, just not for profit, but simply help cover the cost of the tour van or mini bus depending on the number of people participating. This is estimated to be around 250 Baht or 8 US dollar per person. Also, Individuals will need to pay for their own admission fees to the various locations and any meals at their leisure.

The more people, the cheaper the adventure in terms of the van or bus, so there's yet one more reason to rsvp YES! For lunch, we will head to a local restaurant but it's will be at-cost per person so it won't be too expensive either. You're more than welcome, and I would highly recommend, to pack snacks, water, soft drinks, etc. per your preference, but there will be likely be stops and vendors along the tour routes where you can also purchase such drinks and snacks.

Please be prompt, very important. It is an early start for some people, but we really do need to depart on time to truly enjoy the day and extra time if available at the various historical sites.

Itinerary:

08:00 Depart from Bangkok metropolitan vicinity.
(Meetup location will be provided shortly based on location of YES-RSVP)

09:30 Arrive at Bang Pa In Royal Palace (Admission fee may apply)

11:30 Arrive at Wat Yai Chai Mongkol

12:30 Lunch

14:00 Arrive at Chao Sam Phraya National Museum (closes at 16:00, Admission 30 Baht)

15:30 Arrive at Wat Phra Si Sanphet (closes at 17:00, Admission 10-30 Baht)

17:00 Depart for Bangkok metropolitan vicinity
