Triangle Area Cruise Lovers Meetup - Initial

I love to cruise, but so many of my friends and acquaintances have so many unfounded hang ups about spending a vacation on a cruise ship. As nobody else has started a cruise meetup, I felt it my duty to pay the money and get one going. Hopefully, I can get a group of cruising enthusiasts together, so that we swap war stories, what to do, what not to do, favorite cruise lines and itineraries, shore excursions, etc. and who knows, maybe I can use my contacts in the travel biz get us a deal for a meetup group cruise in the future.

As well as experienced cruisers, I would also welcome those who have never cruised before. I went on my first cruise March 2006 and had an absolute blast on the ?Rhapsody of the Seas? in the Caribbean. Last October I went on ?Voyager of the Seas? on a seven day Med. Cruise out of Barcelona, Spain. Now I wish I had discovered cruising sooner. Compared to land based resorts and tours, cruising is just so economic, and every day you awake to new surrounding and experiences.

My biggest fear was that these mega ships are so big, and have a capacity for so many passengers, that I would feel that I was part of a crowd being jostled at every step of way. Not so, in fact I often wondered where all the people went during the day. I have been given the opportunity to go on the brand spanking new ?Liberty of the Seas? in a couple of weeks time. I?ll let all members know how that mega ship feels

For our very first meetup, hopefully we will have plenty of members by then, we will make it more of a social / discussion get together. Introduce ourselves, get to know each other, talk cruising, and plan topic and agenda for future meetings.
