Lincoln Park Zoo and the World Conservation Union are hosting the First International Wildlife Reintroduction Conference this April. By releasing animals into natural habitats, reintroduction programs improve the prospects of survival for wild populations. Conservation biologists from around the globe will convene at Lincoln Park Zoo to share information on the successes and failures of these high-profile conservation endeavors.

Join us at Lincoln Park Zoo on Wednesday, April 16 from 7:00-8:30pm at Cafe Brauer as the conference closes with a special public lecture offering an inside look at the triumphs and tribulations of restoring species to the wild. Lincoln Park Zoo?s Steve Thompson, Ph.D., will open with an overview of the up-to-date knowledge presented during the conference, including innovative approaches, challenges and the latest progress in well-known reintroduction programs. Mike Phillips of the Turner Endangered Species Fund will conclude the public lecture by highlighting stories from the field, notably the reintroduction of gray wolves to Yellowstone National Park and red wolves to Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.

For more information on the First Annual Wildlife Reintroduction Conference, visit www.reintroduction.org.

You must register through Lincoln Park Zoo. Tickets are $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Visit https://orderchannel....
to make an online payment. Although I am not limiting the numbers who can attend, it will depend on whether or not you get your ticket in time so reserve your spot with the zoo early!

Please eat before you come -- Cafe Brauer is not a restaurant and you will not be able to order dinner there!

Please also arrive early so we can try to sit together. I'll try to reserve a section for us, but it'll help if others get there to help!

See you there!

The speakers at this event were great -- very informative and entertaining! I enjoyed it so much I wanted to sign up right away to volunteer at one of their reintroduction sites! The two other members that showed up (or at least found me) were nice to talk to and had great comments and experiences to share -- I just wish the whole group could have joined us!

I did see the reintroduced grey wolves at Yellowstone (in 2001) -- or rather I saw the faraway specks that were said to be the grey wolves.
