Description:
Join Jon and Donna for camping in what may be Pennsylvania's prettiest state park. I am a sucker for waterfalls, I will tromp 4 hours through bush and bramble and up the sides of volcanoes for a good one. Here, it's nowhere near that hard. Spread across 13,050 acres deep in the Poconos, Ricketts Glenn is a waterfall hunter's paradise.
What better way to open the summer season than with a camping trip. What do you want to do? Ricketts Glen has it all: hiking, camping (one of the two camping areas is on a peninsula extending into the lake), swimming, fishing, canoeing and kayaking on 245-acre Lake Jean.
Here is the link to the park http://www.dcnr.state...
There are showers at the park. You are responsible for providing your own tent and sleeping bag. However, if you ask nicely we may have tents to loan/share.

I had a lot of fun seeing the waterfalls and meeting other people who liked to sleep in tents and bathe infrequently. I look forward to seeing those people again in other activities! I'll also try to post my pics in the next couple of days.

Diane and I had a great time and felt completely welcomed on our first trip with the group. The scenery was great, and so was the company. I put some of the many photos I took on the site. If anyone wants the full-sized files, let me know. Looking forward to hanging out with all of you again! Wayne (aka, The Boy Scout, Inspector Gadget, MacGyver, the Professor.....)

Diane and I felt welcomed from the first handshakes, and we grew close to many of those in attendance. In all, this is a top-notch group of people. Donna and Jon did a fantastic job of organizing and feeding us all, and several people chipped in (pun intended) to help with dishes and firewood gathering. We are looking forward to our next trip with these folks!
