American Museum of Natural History

Spend a weekend in New York City, highlighted with a day at the American Museum of Natural History.

We'll take the Acela train from Boston to New York on Friday afternoon, and return Sunday afternoon. In New York, we will do a two-day sublet of an apartment for Friday and Saturday nights.

We'll spend Saturday at the Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium. Saturday evening we can do pretty much anything we want, perhaps scoring some low-price, last-minute tickets to a Broadway or off-Broadway play.

Sunday morning is open for whatever we want, then it's off to Grand Central Terminal and the ride back to Boston.

Cost each for the trip will be about $250 for the Acela train, about $200-$300 for the apartment, $25 for admission to the museum, plus whatever else we decide to do and, of course, our food.

Last day to RSVP to this trip will be July 12, in order for us to find an apartment that meets our needs for location and sleeping arrangements. At that time "MAYBE" RSVPs will be change to "NO" RSVPs. We will likely need four people for the apartment idea to pay off. Otherwise the cost each will be prohibitive. On July 13, the people who are going will be able to decide on final arrangements, and okay the apartment arrangement and costs. Money for the apartment will have to be provided by July 16 in order to secure the apartment.
