Hi everyone,

This is my original posting plus updated information (including camping costs) at the end:

I am excited to invite all of you to join us on a camping trip to southern Oregon from Saturday, June 28th to Sunday, July 6th. We will have a planning meeting on Sunday, May 18th (next Sunday) to meet each other and to continue to plan the trip. We will drive down and explore the coast, camp in Newport and make our way further down the coast and camp at Harris Beach State Park. We will then camp in Grants Pass while doing a lot of fun things including white water rafting on the Rogue River, hiking, tubing, canoeing on Crater Lake, exploring the caves and playing cards or chilling out by the campfire (hopefully accompanied by some great guitar music). We will take the scenic route north through the Willamette Valley and by Mt Hood on our way home.

The camping fees are as follows:
For the nights of:

June 28-June 29th: Newport-Beverly Beach, $17/night plus $6 to reserve (total cost: $40)
June 30-July 1st: Harris Beach State Park: $17/night plus $6 to reserve (total cost: $40)
July 2nd-July 5th: Valley of the Rogue: $16/night plus $6 to reserve (total cost: $70)
July 6th: Bend-Lapines State Park: $17/night plus $6 to reserve the spot (total cost: $23)

Total cost of camping for the group for the trip: $173.

Currently the above campgrounds have campsites available for reservation. So far, 12 people have RSVP'd yes and a lot of people have RSVP'd maybe. I estimate 8 people will go so each person's cost for camping for the entire trip will total $21.62!! We will carpool to minimize the cost of gas and cook over the bonfire as much as possible!

If you are interested in this trip and want to reserve a spot, meet us at Newcastle Beach Park on Sunday, May 18th at 5:00 pm. The first eight (8) people to pay $21.62 to reserve a spot are in! So I will see you all next Sunday, May 18th!! Once again, the meeting place, date and time are as follows:

Place: Newcastle Beach Park
4400 Lake Washington Blvd. SE
Bellevue, WA 98009

Date: Sunday, May 18, 2008

Time: 5:00 pm

Let's meet at the picnic table closest to the water to the right of the beach. Call me at 425.736.3495 if you can't find us.

Bring any maps, books or other information you have on Oregon. Please RSVP because I need a good head count!!!! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Tajar :)

Someone inquired about the cost. It is hard to say at this point because people are still RSVPing. The costs will be low because we are camping, carpooling, hiking and cooking most of our meals. You don't have to eat out at all if you do not want. I will update this in a few days when I have a better head count. Thanks, Tajar :)
