Who
- We welcome anyone who wants to travel independently while meeting others heading in the same direction. Make your own personal arrangements and choose to go off on your own or hang with the group - it's up to you!
Why
- You'll love it because you'll meet other wanderers and wayfarers and discover unusual places on a shoestring budget. Plus, you'll get outta Bmore for a few days and get a change of scenery:-)!

Details
We'll be rendezvouing at Penn Station Baltimore at 4PM on April 18, 2008 and hopping the #83 Regional Service Train (see Amtrak.com) to Richmond, VA for a 3-hour trip direct to Main Street Station in downtown Richmond (the capital of the former Confederacy).
The train has a snack and alcohol bar and the ticket is only $53!
Once there, we can walk to any number of unique and even "haunted" hotels. This part is up to you. Whatever you like: high-end luxury or off-the-beaten path dives? I recommend the latter. Hey, stretch a little without stretching your budget:-).
Richmond is then ours to discover. It's a jewel of the south within a 3-hour train ride from Bmore.
No agenda. Just explore. Alone or with the group - it's up to you. Bring a friend. Bring a group. Check out Richmond.com if you'd like to see what's going on and schedule something.
Then, on Sunday the 20th catch one of three returning Amtrak trains to Baltimore (ranging from 10 AM to 5:30PM; $37 - $53).
